At the Whim of Arcadia, Eireland, Tristan and Phoenix.

Here is a short essay I wrote for a Boogie Wipes Contest. :) Please vote for me via the link below.

My idea day off? Is it a problem that I'm TORN between running away to a tropical Hawaiian island to a hotel suite with no one there but a butler to serve my every need no matter how silly? Or a day to spend with my children doing all the things our busy day to day schedule won't allow?

No matter how torn, I would absolutely pick the later. I would love to start the day making breakfast with my little boogie monsters- all 4 of them making their favorites, no matter how outrageous or demanding. Followed by eating that delectable breakfast in my bed all together- daddy and all. The day would be schedule free and we could do whatever our little hearts desire- want to go on a picnic? Done! A move in cozy pajamas, hit chocolate and homemade marshmallows? Perfect? Crafts? Painting getting wildly messy? Bring it on.

My ideal day off- making memories with my littles, no mater how crazy or how simple it may seem. I love those guys and they are my life...and life flies by in an instant and before long, ill have all the time in the world to relax in a quiet house free of the noise that my littles bring...you know, the fighting, the screaming, the sticky hands, and crying, but also the laughter, the love, the playing and the imagination that takes place in the world of my children.

My ideal day off is at the whim of Arcadia, Eireland, Tristan and Phoenix! I am simply along for the ride.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Hello! I am not sure where to start, but my heart has really been praying about my blog lately and my thoughts and feelings on trying to revive it. I decided, its going to happen, and I am going to go back to where my heart was with this years ago...on praying for my (our) children. I see this school year opening and my heart wants to just pray pray pray for my children as they enter the world. A new school year started today and I have the privilege of working at the same school where my oldest daughter Arcadia attends. Our relationship has grown tremendously since she and I have been together. I get to see first hand the struggles of a high school student. What an incredibly scary place to be, but then again, each age presents its own scary situations. If you know me, you know that I have 4 children. Arcadia is 16 and a junior in high school, Eireland is in 8th grade, Tristan is in 5th grade and Phoenix is in 2nd grade. I am trying to raise world changers and what better place...

Holiday Deliciousness!

One thing that I love for the holidays and have started as a tradition for my own family is homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch. Now, don't get me wrong, they take a LONG time, and I am not getting up at 3:00 am just so we can have cinnamon rolls. So, I searched the internet for some amazing overnight cinnamon rolls, and I came up with 3 recipes that I combined to make my own holiday morning cinnamon rolls. The rolls themselves come from the  William's Sanoma Overnight Cinnamon Rolls recipe. Ingredients: For the dough:  1 Tbs. (1 package) active dry yeast  1/2 cup warm water (105°F)  4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed  4 eggs  1/4 cup granulated sugar  2 tsp. kosher salt  8 Tbs. (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature     8 Tbs. (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted  1/2 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 Tbs. ground cinnamon Directions: To make the dough, in the bowl of a stand ...

A Time for Everything

I do not like change. Simple as that. I do not like change that is for the better, I do not like change that is for the worse. I just do not like change.  It literally hurts my heart. The reason my favorite book is Little Women is because I can identify with Jo and her desire to have everything stay the same. EVERYTHING. I wrestle with changes in my life much like in the life of Jo. Unfortunately for me life doesn't stand still and changes occur on the daily. Recently my sister challenged me to a Bible verse challenge on Facebook. She has the best intentions and when she asked me why I hadn't posted any Bible verses my answer was appalling and party true. My answer, "I don't like the Bible." Hear me out before you close this blog and judge me relentlessly. I said it was only partly true. The truth is this. I feel lost, mostly because I am experiencing a lot of change in my life, things I have no control over. Arcadia's best friend moved away, we chose a...
