Giving Thanks

I know I skipped a few days, I'm sorry. With the Thanksgiving holiday, I found myself quite busy. I actually did think of a daily prayer I wanted to post, but then I was worried that the words wouldn't be quite right. So today, my prayer for our children is two fold. First is to be Thankful. Second, it is to see the bigger world around them and how they can make a difference.

If your friends with me on Facebook, you see that I often times post or share photos from the Jessie Rees Foundation. Which was started by a 12 year old girl who was dying from cancer. Her mission? Spread joy and encourage others to Never Ever Give Up. Creating the term NEGU. I encourage you to take a look at this foundation as for some reason, it really reached out and touched my heart like nothing else.

The 'home office' is called the Joy Factory and volunteers can come near he help stuff Joy Jars, which are then sent to kids everywhere battling cancer. It's quite amazing. The Joy Factory is located about an hour and a half away from where we live and I am so excited that the kids and I get to go and be a part of something so amazing. They have reached out to many sick kids here in our own community.

Christmas coming up and I simply want my children to see that there is more to Christmas than simply gifts- which they already know. Each one of my Littles knows we celebrate Christmas to remember the birth of our Savior. But I also want them to experience first hand what it is like to love, care for and serve others. What better way than to stuff Joy Jars. Please take a moment to look at the Jessie Rees Foundation.

Also, if you every have something that I can pray for you for, it's as simple as commenting below, emailing me, messaging me on Facebook. <3

Have a fabulous day.

Dear Lord, today I pray for our children. Thank you for each one, each individual one that you knew even before we did as mothers. They are each fearfully and wonderfully made and made in your image. I pray that as their mother, I can instill in them a heart of thankfulness, and compassion. That I would be able to lead them by example and teach them about loving and serving others. As we go through this season where it is very easy to think only of ourselves and our wants, I pray that our children learn to think of others and how they can serve others and be thankful for what they have. I ask all these things in your precious name, Amen

Holiday Deliciousness!

One thing that I love for the holidays and have started as a tradition for my own family is homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch. Now, don't get me wrong, they take a LONG time, and I am not getting up at 3:00 am just so we can have cinnamon rolls. So, I searched the internet for some amazing overnight cinnamon rolls, and I came up with 3 recipes that I combined to make my own holiday morning cinnamon rolls. The rolls themselves come from the  William's Sanoma Overnight Cinnamon Rolls recipe. Ingredients: For the dough:  1 Tbs. (1 package) active dry yeast  1/2 cup warm water (105°F)  4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed  4 eggs  1/4 cup granulated sugar  2 tsp. kosher salt  8 Tbs. (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature     8 Tbs. (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted  1/2 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 Tbs. ground cinnamon Directions: To make the dough, in the bowl of a stand ...

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Hello! I am not sure where to start, but my heart has really been praying about my blog lately and my thoughts and feelings on trying to revive it. I decided, its going to happen, and I am going to go back to where my heart was with this years ago...on praying for my (our) children. I see this school year opening and my heart wants to just pray pray pray for my children as they enter the world. A new school year started today and I have the privilege of working at the same school where my oldest daughter Arcadia attends. Our relationship has grown tremendously since she and I have been together. I get to see first hand the struggles of a high school student. What an incredibly scary place to be, but then again, each age presents its own scary situations. If you know me, you know that I have 4 children. Arcadia is 16 and a junior in high school, Eireland is in 8th grade, Tristan is in 5th grade and Phoenix is in 2nd grade. I am trying to raise world changers and what better place...

My Home Away From Home! <3

So, here is the deal- I work 70+ hours in a week, this is spread out between 2 jobs. (and usually, 2-3 outfit changes through out the day...no, I'm not kidding.) Yesterday as I was rushing, ok, let's be real, I was in 5:30 traffic trying to get across town, anyhow, I was rushing from one job to the next...I was sitting in my car eating my dinner, which was pretty awesome; peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Keebler Elf cookies, a Baggie of carrot sticks, an apple and peanut butter straight from the container with a spoon. I felt a little lonely, driving, eating my dinner and listening to some music. Now, let me tell you about my home away from home, aka my car, and the type of relationship we have. I hop in at 7:00 am, usually I'm finishing some type of breakfast, oatmeal, a beagle, whatev, but ALWAYS iced coffee. We drop the kids off and blast some music to wake me up a little more- just incase the coffee failed for the day. We hang out until 7:45 when I get to work- m...
